Had a great dinner experience at the Red Room tonight. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had the polpo appetizer, which was delicious, very tender and not overwhelmed by the Mediterranean sauce. Husband had the veal chop milanése and I had the rack of lamb. Both seasoned and cooked to perfection, as the accompanying mashed potatoes. Since it was the husband's birthday, we finished up with a cherry chocolate and vanilla bomb. All in all very satisfying.

What an amazing experience!!! We were here for a family wedding and needed a spot for all 18 of us to eat dinner- this place was fire!!! Everyone enjoyed their selection from Ceaser salad, homemade pasta with bolognese, lamb chops, and the pescatarian pasta was so delicious!!!! Maria the manager was super friendly and helpful as we were a large group! I highly recommend and think this place is killing it! Her son is the chef and the food is sooo good!!!! My husband and I are big foodies and when I say run don't walk to this place- make a reservation- even the cappuccino was amazing!!!!! Love a place that really delivers!!!

Food was very good. Service was excellent for our party of 8. It is a busy place so don't expect a quite cozy corner on a weekend. But it was fun and delicious. And we were able to take our time without feeling rushed.

The best meatballs I've ever had. I cannot stop thinking about them -- or those artichokes. I didn't even think I liked artichokes and now I'm craving these too. Everything we ate was top notch, and good service. We ate outdoors so can't speak to inside, but dying to go back. Definitely among the best food down the shore. Top notch spot!

was staying with some friends in the area and they made reservation for this restaurant. I am very happy they they did. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and very large portions. The waitress Lisa was extremely nice helpful and professional !!!You could bring your own bottle of wine or liquor with no extra charge the chicken Parmesan was one of the largest we've ever seen. We had a pizza and it was more than we could eat freshly made bread delicious. We also had Bronzino which we shared because it was so large and mashed potatoes asparagus were delicious. Actually, there's nothing I can say negativeabout the food in this restaurant seems like it's made with a lot of caring indoor outdoor eating decor is nothing fancy. But very comfortable I'm glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant and if I was here for a long period of time, I would come back again. Our friends eat here at least once a week and I can see why.

We really ordered a lot of food, because we wanted to sample it all. We started with the Artichoke alla Romana and beet salad. Both were flavorful ways to begin our dinner. My favorite entree was the eggplant parmesan which was super cheesy with a generous portion of eggplant. My brother enjoyed the veal which was served in a lemon caper sauce, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We tried the blush sauce with a side of gnocchi. To be fair I am not a gnocchi fan but I could tell it was fresh. The pizza was crispy and held up to the stand up test. The least favorite was the bolognese with pappardelle. The sauce lacked the flavor I usually expect from this dish. Both desserts were excellent but my favorite was the blueberry crumble cheesecake. Kudos to our server Selena, our busboy and the cook. Everyone was very cordial and checked on us often. Overall a fun night with many flavors to recommend.

Hot Honey Pizza was the star of the show!! We came here this past week for a work dinner. The staff did a great job at managing and serving our large party that took up 6 large tables! We started with a charcuterie platter that was out of this world! Mozzarella, parm cheese, roasted peppers, olives, delicious! try not to fill up on their bread, it is so good! we shared the Caesar salad (yummy dressing), more mozzarella & tomato (yes!) and meatballs. the meatballs were just like my moms, homemade taste for sure! I shared the chicken parm and hot honey pizza with one other. The chicken parm was delicious but the hot honey pizza was out of this world!!!!!! The restaurant itself is small but lovely. There are a few outdoor tables and then most of the seating is inside. Parking in the area is hard but be patient and you will find something.

Red Room Cafe

Red Room Cafe at 141 N Dorset Ave, Ventnor City, NJ, has become a top dining spot for those searching for authentic Italian flavors, romantic ambiance, and impeccable service all in one place.

A local Italian gem with heart and flavor

When it comes to finding an Italian restaurant near Ventnor City that delivers both comfort and character, Red Room Cafe stands out. Tucked away just minutes from the beach, this cozy diner doesn’t shout for attention — it earns it. The red-accented interior feels like a warm embrace, while the open kitchen invites curiosity. Guests often return for the intimate dining experience, the handwritten specials, and the feeling that they're always welcome.

What really draws locals and tourists alike is the way Red Room Cafe blends traditional recipes with fresh ingredients sourced from trusted nearby vendors. One evening might bring you a silky plate of Lobster Ravioli in saffron cream, while another might feature a Veal Milanese that’s crisped to perfection. The menu isn't overwhelming, but every dish feels thoughtful — like it came from someone’s Nonna.

From family kitchen to favorite menu in Ventnor

The menu at Red Room Cafe reflects more than Italian-American staples — it’s a celebration of regional Italian dishes rarely seen outside the country. While you’ll find familiar faces like Chicken Parmigiana or Spaghetti Carbonara, there’s depth in dishes such as Branzino with lemon caper sauce or homemade gnocchi in gorgonzola cream.

Each dish is plated with intention. The sauces — whether a vibrant marinara or a subtle white wine reduction — show restraint and balance. Ingredients are rarely masked, allowing their natural flavor profiles to take center stage. Regulars often praise the kitchen for its ability to keep things fresh without losing authenticity.

One thing worth noting: portions are generous without being excessive, and desserts like tiramisu or pistachio panna cotta are light enough to enjoy after a full meal. If you're lucky, you’ll land a night when the chef rolls out seasonal specials, like wild mushroom risotto or truffle-infused pasta.

A perfect location for date nights, family dinners, and everything in between

Conveniently located at 141 N Dorset Ave, Red Room Cafe offers easy access whether you're strolling from the beach or driving from Atlantic City. Its location adds to its charm — away from the noise, yet still close enough to feel part of the local scene.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the food or its address — it's the vibe. There’s something inherently warm about the way the staff remembers your name or asks if you'd like your wine “the usual way.” From anniversary celebrations to casual Sunday dinners, the ambiance strikes a balance between elegance and comfort.

And it’s not just the locals who are talking. Visitors often leave glowing reviews about the candlelit tables, the attentive but never intrusive service, and the way every visit feels like a mini escape to Southern Italy. Even the background playlist — often jazz or Italian classics — adds a finishing touch.

Reviews and repeat visits that speak volumes

Scroll through any review site, and you’ll see the same words come up: authentic, cozy, consistent, and flavorful. Guests frequently mention how Red Room Cafe has become their go-to spot for special occasions and casual weeknights alike.

One reviewer wrote, "It’s the kind of place where you can have a deep red Barolo and talk for hours over plates that taste like home." Another noted, "The staff treats you like family, and the food never misses." These aren’t one-off compliments — they’re reflections of a diner that’s earned its reputation.

What also stands out is the respect for tradition without feeling stuck in it. The team clearly takes pride in what they serve, and that translates into an experience where every dish, every greeting, and every detail feels deliberate.

Red Room Cafe isn’t about flash or trend. It’s about heart, about food made right, and about giving guests a space to slow down and savor. Whether you're visiting Ventnor for the first time or you've lived here for decades, it’s a place that reminds you why eating out should always feel this good.
